"LE FROU-FROU" - 1900 â€" WEILUC (LUCIEN-HENRI WEIL) - The Magazine Frou-Frou was started in 1900 and published until the start of World War II and started again in the mid 1920's. Weiluc's poster was one of the first created for this provocative magazine. "Frou-Frou" literally means "rustle" and the visual of the girls flouncing skirts causes you almost to hear the "frou-frou".
